06 Oct GET THE EXPERT SKIN & MAKEUP SCOOP AT OUR FALL BEAUTY EVENT
Wednesday, October 28th
11:30am – 6:00pm
We really do love this time of year. ‘Tis the season for sweater weather, changing leaves, and best of all, trying out the fall beauty trends we’ve had in our back pockets since they first debuted.
Of course, beauty experimentation is best done with friends (and, ideally, in the presence of professionals). With that in mind, consider joining us for our Aveda Skin & Makeup Event on Wednesday, October 28th, from 11:30am – 6:00pm. You’ll receive a skin consultation and a mini-facial (with our Aveda Skin Care Specialist, Lauren), followed by a briefing in the latest beauty trends & techniques with an Aveda makeup expert. Your $40 reservation fee is redeemable in Aveda makeup or skincare product following your appointment.
In the meantime, get excited by previewing our favorite picks for fall beauty—and the Aveda products you need to achieve them, courtesy of the new Sublime Spirit Collection.
After seasons of nude lipsticks and clear glosses, vivid, saturated lips are back—and we’re thrilled. As much as we loved the bright pops of raspberry at Carolina Herrera and Dolce & Gabbana and the orangey reds at Céline and Saint Laurent, we’ve found ourselves gravitating toward the dark side. Call it a rebellion against “no-makeup,” but we’re entranced by the wash of inky, wine-hued pigment showcased at Emanuel Ungaro and Marc Jacobs. For an eminently wearable take, mimic the stained look worn by models at Marchesa with Aveda’s new Nourish-Mint Smoothing Lip Color in Blackberry. Bonus: Violet-tinged lip color will make your teeth look pearly white.
Mara Hoffman and Zac Posen both sent models down their runways adorned with alluringly pearlescent bronze eye shadow. The almost rosy hues have us mesmerized (and somehow dreaming of an early 1960s New Year’s Eve). Recreate the look with Aveda Petal Essence Single Eye Color in Golden Ginger, which has a rich gold sheen. If If you’re feeling bold, enhance the intensity by priming lids with Color Options Eye Shadow Transformer. Top things off with a mod minidress, and your winter-glam look is complete.
Despite becoming something of a runway mainstay, graphic liner is one of those trends we’re never quite sure how to incorporate into our everyday lives. While the shadow-esque liner at Dior and Chanel or the parallel lines at Rochas might look great atop a runway, they’re likely to earn a different kind of double-take when trotted out for your Friday night dinner date. For a less intimidating option, borrow from the exaggerated, brushstroke cat-eye seen at Oscar de la Renta and John Galliano. Feeling adventurous? Re-create the painterly, soft brown flutter at Anna Sui with Aveda Petal Essence Eye Definer in Cacao.
We’ll see you October 28th. Until then, happy experimenting!
